Is the Handwritten Note a Lost Art?

Smart Phones, Evites, Tablets…Oh My!
Is the written note and paper invitations a lost art?  Not long ago before smart phones, Evites, and tablets the world communicated by thoughtful and sincere handwritten notes and letters.  Do not underestimate the power of written correspondence and the art of handwritten notes.  Fine paper and invitations have a special place in the hearts of many even with the technological trends and advances in the world.

Stay Connected Through Paper
I encourage parents to uphold the traditions of staying connected to family and friends through sincere and heartfelt handwritten notes and personal invitations.   Let’s reclaim these lost communications by taking people back to the days of handwritten notes to say thank you, a letter to say I’m thinking of you or a card just because.  No matter how savvy an electronic e-mail or e-card may appear; nothing can substitute or replace the sincerity of a handwritten note.

Building Lasting Relationships
Let’s empower business leaders and today’s youth by focusing on building lasting relationships, building leadership skills, uplifting confidence levels and self esteem.  Letter writing and drawing is an art and the stationery is the canvas.

Will you make a pledge to volunteer your time and reach out to the local education leaders and small independent businesses in your area?  Create a message in a bottle program or start a pen pal club to encourage our youth to engage in meaningful communications. The club will encourage students to build lasting relationships, fundamentals of letter writing, enhance reading and writing, and improve literacy.
